I have made so much progress and I’m very proud of myself…and yes, I LOVE myself for making the effort! And no, that isn’t to make your purse lighter whilst you flounder around wondering what the hell you are doing. At the same time they are also there to make money and convince you that their plan is the only one that works…which is rubbish really! My Slimming World diet journey and my life in general. My goal is to get to 10 stone by Christmas, that gives me a total of 24 weeks to lose 27 pound, just over 1 pound a week seems realistic to me. It’s the start of day 6 of the diet and so far so good. I’ve done some research on keeping motivated and while a lot of it either didn’t apply to me personally or just didn’t seem realistic there was a few things that made sense, here’s what i’ve taken from my research and what I think will work for me. The great thing is that you are finding time for yourself now. I love cooking and find SW ideal for that reason - but also love that I can just have a jacket spud and beans if I'm tired or can't be arsed. How did you put on weight? At school, I was two stone heavier than the other kids and I was picked on. How did it affect your health and wellbeing? Did you try dieting and exercise? Every now and then I would get the motivation to go on a diet, but when I stopped I’d just put the weight back on again. The problem with fad diets is that they’re a short-term and radical change to your diet, which you can’t keep up over the long term. How did you find the group sessions? But everyone at the class was so friendly. The classes gave me the support and motivation to keep going. What’s the key to keeping the weight off? When I get a craving, I remember the photo and I ask myself: what do I want more, that biscuit or to be slim? I have my confidence back and I love being able to wear fashionable clothes instead of the frumpy tents I was forced to wear before. Before, it felt as though food dominated my life, but the weight loss programme gradually changed my attitude to food. I go to aerobics classes three to four times a week and I sometimes walk to the classes and back. My health has definitely improved since losing the weight.
