There are 4 plans and the basic 2 which you need to learn about first and red days and green days. You can eat as much Meat, Fish and Fruit as you want to feel full. You can choose 1 or 2 Healthy Extra A's which are milk and cheese options. The other 2 plans which you can follow once you know the basic ones well enough are mix and match and success express. Mix and Match means you can have a red meal for Breakfast, a Red lunch and then a green dinner. The syns in the book are basic and I invested in Slimming World's Shop at Tesco book which gives you all the free food, and food which you can buy in tesco from Tesco's own brands to named brands. For that you get weighed and you get the chance to get help through Image Therapy where we discuss how we feel about our losses or gains. I only really look to see how much they have gained or lost and that is the only thing which gets told to people. I do believe that for Slimming World to work you have to be determined to do it and be in the right frame of mind for it to work. It is a very easy plan once you get your head round it which can take a bit of time but the results to me proves that it works and I am not the overweight person I was 6 months ago.
I started slimming world a few weeks ago and in the first week lost an amazing 5.5 pounds then the second week I put on half a pound. I have well over a stone, stone and a half to go but you still have lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks and they say you should only expect 1 to 2 pounds a week. I hated the very idea but tried some last week and it's not bad at all and have had it twice this week so hopefully as it is a super speed food I will have lost some more this week. It is disheartening when you have stuck to it and not got the weight loss you feel you deserve, but just keep at it and the weight will come off. Week 1 i lost 2 and half pounds. People have been telling me that you have weeks that are slower but i was being so good it was disheartening and i am finding this week really hard! Thanks everyone for the advice, I must have done something right because I lost 2lbs this week and got my half a stone so was really pleased. I've been on SW for about 5 weeks and have lost 10lbs. I know it says you can have 5-15 syns a day but I struggle to hit 10 a day during the week. But then I put back on 9 pounds over Christmas and started slimming world at the beginning of January at 12 stone 6 and am now 11 stone 10.
The past two weeks I have started having some or all of my syns every day, pink and whites, snack size choc bars, maybe a couple of biscuits. Since I have been doing that (2 weeks) I lost 3 the first week and 4 this week. Does using your syns enhance the weight loss? If you don't have any Syns then you will be having very little fat etc. Your body needs a certain amount of fat etc to function. When eating a bit of fat etc your body works more effectively. You could also have nuts as your HEB, or cheese as your HEA so could easily be getting some fat. Syns don't necessarily have fat either - you could use all your syns on sugar or haribos - not fat at all.

If your weight is not shifting, and you are eating a very decent amount of food, the chances are you need to cut down your portion sizes. The clever part about Slimming World is something that I have tried hard with, but feel that I have recently let slip a little – and this is the focus of my challenge…1/3 Superfree food. – has already done this, so I have decided to shamelessly plagiarise her material to give you what I think is a really sound and clear explanation as to the benefits of Superfree food… Well firstly you do have a little superfree added in the homemade tomato sauce, but it is nowhere near enough, so lets remove some of the bacon and tomato pasta from the plate and add a 1/3 superfree of salad. That is a response I see very often, and it is fact that there are many people who do not like vegetables, who struggle to add the superfree to their plate. So how can you get superfree into your meal and naturally limit your portion of the free foods? Well if you do really struggle to add it to your plate, serve yourself a homemade soup made with lots of superfree foods first, or perhaps a small fruit salad and then serve your main meal on a smaller plate than what you would normally, so you are not piling it high with the other free foods. However this defeats the object of superfree, because chances are, once you have eaten that big plate piled high with free foods (and no or little superfree), you will either be too full to eat the fruit or will be eating extra food just for the sake of it, and of course that is not the intention of the recommended 1/3 superfree. Vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli and carrots, with a little stock added, some black pepper and a HEA serving of cheese and then baked in the oven is a great way to add some superfree to your plate. Or start the meal with a bowl of superfree soup and then have a smaller plate of your main course. So for instance look at what superfree you have and think what you can serve with it. Bulking up on your Superfree food really does help to fill you up too – it’s good fibre based fruit and veggies, so just fill the plate with them! So then, my challenge is to ensure you eat your Superfree foods – and if you’re not a Slimming Worlder it doesn’t matter…an increase in this type of food will do you good, so try it! And when you have a good loss, you can share your food picture diary with your consultant and group for extra brownie points!
The first nail in the coffin was that on my first week I had lost 4 pounds and wanted recognition for my hard work. So here I am 7 years later and I have decided to put the speed foods to the ultimate test and see exactly how much weight can be lost from six days on JUST speed foods. You could say that this diet that I have devised is based on a mix of The Cabbage Soup Diet and of Slimming World Super Free Foods . My plan is to have three days on just super free vegetables and fruit and then introduce red and green super speed days later in the week. Today it is shopping day so Dominic has come home with the biggest selection of fruit and vegetables that you have ever seen that are all super free foods. I start the day with a peach and have my usual plate of vegetables for dinner. In the evening I have my first night this week without the huge fruit salad and swap it instead for a can of baked beans along with some more tomatoes. I didn’t when I was on The Cabbage Soup Diet and felt that it’ appropriate not to have any this week. I made it to day #6 and I am looking forward to the chicken casserole that we are having this evening. And I may also point out that I have done absolutely no exercise in the last 6 days so that I could compare this to when I followed The Cabbage Soup Diet. And with weight losses of 8 pounds if you followed the Slimming World diet in the normal sense and then just added a 1/3 super speed could you lose two pounds EVERY WEEK?

So my question is does it really work for everyone or is there anybody that has had the same problem with this plan and although you did it properly it didn't work - did you find out why? Im thinking of trying a red week next week if I lose a pitiful amount again this time. Anyone with a similar experience please let me know or if you have known anybody that has been in this situation?

Hi all, i am really in need of some tips and support! But i have a party at my husbands work in 2 weeks and want to boost my weight loss before then as i am worried this week i only lost a pound. Snack - apple and 7 cashwe nuts (1/2 HEB) Thank you for all your help and support. I have been doing slimming world diet for over a year now and have lost 3 1/2 stone and find whenever I eat lots of grapefruit and drink plenty of water I have seen great losses. I'd do sp for two weeks. I did it before I went away for 16 days and lost 61/2 llbs. I found cauliflower rice and swede and butterbean mash were really good. Oh and also if you do decide to do sp, I recommend meal planning and also working out what your going to snack on. I found a lot of fruits that I eat a lot of like bananas, grapes, mango, and pineapple weren't allowed so I had to really think about what I was going to eat.

Persoanlly I still have a hell of a lot to lose, so it is still coming off for me (2st in 11 weeks), but as you approach your natural weight, the weight loss will slow down considerably. Speedy week is you still have healthy extras and 5-15syns, but the idea is you fill 2/3 of your plate with SS superfree foods. I will give the speedy week a go and hopefully that will give me a boost. When I was on weight watchers I used to have saturday as a treat day and eat what I want and still lose, with slimming world I dont do that I stick to it all week and am lucky to lose 1lbs. Racheltus, with SW you just have to keep in your head that there is just no pattern or hard and fast way to do things and it doesn't make sense sometimes so don't be dishearted. If it's the fast forward (i think thats what it called) week you are thinking of doing then your consultant gives you a list of foods you can have and I don't think there are syns allowed. I have lost 2 stone on SW but am finding the last 1/2 st that I would like to loose before the wedding difficult to shift so I know how you feel. I have done slimming world and am currently on it and I am a big fan so I would encourage you to stick with it. I am the same as you I have a small amount of weight to lose (under a stone). You also have 1 or 2 healthy extra A's and 2 x B's and you also have your 5 - 15 syns but use the green higher syn value.

At Slimming World you choose what to eat from a list of ‘Free’ foods, which can be eaten freely to satisfy your appetite. The plan is based on satiety and energy density and so these foods are chosen because they’ll fill you up for fewer calories.
