I have personally never tried it.but i think that the problem w/ slim fast is not losing weight.obviously if you only have like 200 calories for breakfast and lunch and then a "sensible" dinner, you will lose weight. If you have Slim fast for one meal (it recommends two but I only do one) a day but eat poorly the rest, it won't help. Although I know it isn't the sort of plan to go on long term I was wondering about trying slim fast for maybe the first couple of weeks to give me a kickstart and help me to start losing quickly. My friend and I used to call Slim Fast death by milkshake as we found it unsustainable for more than a week i.e. The Slim Fast pasta dishes are awful, taste really fake and chemically. I have been exercising at least 30 mins a day for abou a week and decided I would like to cut down on my food and start a diet. The slim fast was recommended a lot by people that I know and just by exercising a week I have lost 6 pounds! Today is my first day of slim fast and so far I love it. I tried the Slim Fast diet for about a month and lost about three pounds. The diet felt unhealthy, with all the chocolate and sugar. I just mixed the vanilla shake mix with 1 cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup pf canned pumpkin (40 calories!) and 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie seasoning. I don't follow the whole program for a couple of reasons: first I get really hungry in the morning so I need take some of the calories allowed in a day and have them at breakfast. Every week or two I'd fill one of those 8 cup Glad containers with berries (frozen or fresh), then I'd make up some jello and with one envelope of Knox and add it to the berries and refrigerate. The gelatine protects the berries from air and (I have found) makes them last longer in ready to eat form. So, for breakfast I'd have a just over half a cup of the berry gelitine salad, and a serving of whole grains like toast or oatmeal. I also have a big tossed salad with precious little dressing (40 cal or less) and an orange veg if I haven't already had one that day (for vit A). SLim Fast DIet success so far. – Calorie Count


I tried incorporating the slim fast shakes into my diet but i just have a problem with drinking my calories, no matter if it is supposed to be healthy or not. After i drank them i would still feel hungry and then got upset thinking about the food i could have eaten for less or just as many calories. Well Slim fast has two diff shakes The OLD slim which ave 290 cals per shake and the new optima which is 190cals per shake. And continue my slim diet.
