It will only encourage starvation and the apps don't work! I have been on WW for 26 months and I have lost 65 pounds. I tried WW twice, I didn't "get" the points and I barely exercised. It definitely doesnt work, I stuck to the points diligently for 2 weeks and didnt shed even 1 pound! The plan definitely didnt work for me and it was a complete waste of my time, money and effort. I lost almost 20lbs and had to fight with the customer service. You lose weight slowly and healthily. And you lose weight! If you can commit, and count the points, you're guaranteed to lose weight. And if you stick with it, you can do it for life. They dont care about you at all and will not help and work with you, I am look for a better alternative with a company that isnt so rude. Also, when I told the gals that I can't eat certain foods, such as potatoes and still lose weight, they told me I was wrong. I am new to this and am keen to lose weight for good but have a loooong way to go! I worked hard in my first week and never ate more than my daily point of 40 (sometimes I ate a bit less) and didn't use any of the weekly points. I spoke to the woman at the class who said 3lbs was good but I am not so sure. I know most people lose more in the first few weeks and I feel a bit disappointed. Some people can eat junk and stay thin. I can't give you much tips as this is the first time I'm on Pro Points (did WW a while back) but I'm sure there are many lovely ladies here who are able to advise. Yes there are people who come on here who post that they have lost loads but for every one of those you can bet your bottom dollar that there are hundreds who have lost half a pound or so. I personally lost two and a half pounds in my first week (have now lost 18lbs, which is nearly a stone and a half, in ten weeks). We can all stick to a lettuce leaf and a carrot a day in the short term but it is not sustainable. You need to incorporate food and drink that you enjoy so that you do not feel deprived and so you are far less likely to fall off the wagon. I am not advocating eating loads of cr$p but rather a treat and snack or two which you enjoy. The way I look at it is that yes I possibly could have lost more weight in the last 10 weeks but I sure as hell would not have enjoyed it as much. You should also pat yourself on the back for your exercise activities which sound brilliant and shows you are motivated and challenge yourself to move more.

Overweight and obese adults who followed the Weight Watchers program lost more than twice as much weight as those who received weight-loss advice from a doctor or nurse, according to a new yearlong study funded by the company. The 61% of Weight Watchers users who stuck with the program for a full year lost 15 pounds, on average, compared with 7 pounds among the 54% of people in the other group who continued to visit their doctors each month. When the researchers included the people who dropped out of either program before the year was up, the average weight loss was lower but followed the same pattern: 11 pounds in the Weight Watchers group and 5 pounds in the other group. D., an endocrinologist at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota, says it's only natural that the weekly weigh-ins and "group spirit" of programs such as Weight Watchers would prove more effective than occasional guidance from a doctor or nurse, since research has shown that dieters are more likely to stick with weight-loss programs that stress accountability. "It's not terribly surprising that a group whose whole career is basically helping people with weight management would do a better job than a primary-care group that has a lot more responsibilities on top of that," says Jensen, who was not involved in the study. People may be more likely to stick with a program like Weight Watchers when they're participating free of charge, however. People in the Weight Watchers group were three times more likely than the other participants to lose 10% or more of their initial body weight. With PP I have not changed my number or counted fruit as points, but am thinking I need to do this as the weight is not coming off when I am doing what the plan says I should do. I don’t think the Points are magical – it’s just another method of weight loss that works for me. While people on with the minimum daily Points+, like myself, think free fruit is a Godsend and really help us stay on track. With the new systems I don’t go over and I have few points left most week. I have been on WW for going on 4 weeks, the first week I lost 5 lbs and it seems to have come to a stand still.
