It all started when a friend of mine helped me out with my before and after weight loss pictures. Starting a Low Carb Diet on Atkins Phase 1


To make this process easier, as well as set the stage for when you do decide to move on: Try adding nuts and seeds to your list of acceptable foods. Alternatively, you may choose to lose the bulk of your weight in Phase 2 (Balancing). The gradual increase in Net Carb intake and reintroduction of new foods allows you to continue to shave off pounds and inches, maintain appetite control, and feel energetic. You'll also gradually come to understand which, if any, foods trigger cravings for more of the same and/ or interfere with weight loss. You may find that you're comfortable at a relatively low level of Net Carbs a day, perhaps 25 to 35 grams, which is not all that different from Kick-Start but does allow you to eat such delicious, nutritious food as nuts and seeds and then berries, melon, and cherries. Or you may find you can go considerably higher, say 50 or 60 grams of Net Carbs or even more, which will allow you to include legumes and some vegetable juices. The balancing process enables you to find what works for you. *Some processed meat, bacon, and ham is cured with sugar, which will add to the carb count. Top the dish off with feta cheese or add basil, oregano and other herbs. Vegetable oils – Those labeled "cold pressed" or "expeller pressed" are especially good and olive oil is one of the best.

Inspired by Kelly's new shape, I decided to give The Bar Method a go with a DVD called Change Your Body. Story 1 - The Bar Method


I have been a cyclist for almost 10 years now so everyone thought I had a wreck on the bike and that was the result. From client breakfasts, lunches, and the occasional dinner, eating out is difficult to do without gaining weight and that is exactly what happened. I lost my father 10 years ago and with the loss of my mother in October of 2012, it’s a hard thing to face being “parentless” at 38. I couldn’t do anything and that included training and riding in the MS 150 bike ride that I have done 6 years previously. So I started Bar Method in early July of 2013 and it is one of the best things I have ever done. Cycling is time consuming and not something I can easily work in during the work week. I have tried bootcamps and while I saw results, I was miserable the entire time. Bar Method is enjoyable and is producing results for me. The other day, I was in my workout gear and I stood up and stretched, reaching my arms up in the doorway. I was ready to take the stage that very moment!

The routine was tough, and like the last "Accelerated" Bar Method DVD the ab exercises were killer . If you've never taken a Bar Method class before I suggest you sign up for one before popping this in the DVD, or try one of the more basic workout DVDs so you better understand the fundamentals and form.
