I took my first pill and with in 15 mins i was in the bathroom. I read the book and followed the instructions and never had any side effects. The people that have had the side effects can complain about the pill all you want, but if you are having those side effects then you are not following the instructions properly and you are over eating. Some of these people are bashing it because they just want to stuff themselves and think they can just take a pill after over eating and the fat will fall off. If you are going to take these pills then follow the directions and stop complaining about the side effects because they are your fault. I am very very pleased with the results. If you have adhered to the diet and exercise plan and have not lost at least 5 percent of your initial body weight within a few months, continuing the medication may be of little benefit. If you have not lost 5 percent of body weight within a year on the plan, discontinuing the drug would be a reasonable choice. The risks, side effects and cost associated with taking the medication would likely override any potential benefit. To gain the best results the manufacturers of Alli say that you need to take it as part of a healthy diet and exercise. The main ingredient in Alli is Orlistat. On the official website for Alli, it mentions that due to the way the tablet works, excreting fat via stools, you can expect some side effects related to your bowel movement. The manufacturers of Alli do however state that these side effects are mostly due to your diet, meaning that if you have a diet that contains more fat than they suggest, you are likely to experience these side effects. There has been a recent updated statement on the website about the labelling of Alli and the risk of liver damage. Due to a review of Orlistat (which is the main ingredient in Alli) in relation to liver injury, all products have been labelled to inform customers of the potential risk and to seek medical help if you experience this. By taking Alli you can experience some mild side effects , which are temporary, but more common than the others are. Due to the Orlistat in Alli there are some other side effects, some more serious. There have been studies done on Orlistat at 60mg, which is the same amount that Alli contains, and there have been no reports of people experiencing these more serious side effects, but the tests subjects might not accurately represent the global population. Diet and exercise are also encouraged, with claims that for every 2lb you lose, Alli can help you lose an extra 1lb. You can also get the Alli diet book for £9.99 (original price £14.99), which contains the different meal choices and recipes. There is also an Alli diet plan book for £8.99 (original price £15.31), or 84 capsules and the diet plan book for £47.99 (original price £67.44). Alli does not meet our ‘Approved’ criteria as there is no money-back guarantee and a full ingredients list is not provided on the official website.

Alli should therefore cause less fat to be absorbed into the system because the Orlistat attaches itself to the lipase; the fat that is not absorbed is instead pushed through the intestines and leaves the body in the form of waste matter. Whenever you eat, Alli should reduce the number of calories and the amount of fat that will eventually be absorbed by the body. It is strongly recommended that you stick to exercising regularly and eating healthily – more in-depth advice is given in the programme, which can be found on the official website – in order to benefit more from using Alli. Over a hundred clinical studies have been conducted on Orlistat (the key ingredient in Alli Slimming Tablets), with data obtained from over 30,000 participants. Most of the side-effects are known as ‘diet-related treatment effects’ and are brought about because of the way in which Alli works, which is to dispose of fat as a waste product. Some studies have been conducted on Orlistat and no major side-effects were reported, yet that is not to say you definitely will not experience any of the symptoms. Note that the chances of side-effects occurring are the same, whether you take Alli in the form of capsules or chewable tablets. In order to start taking Alli, you must be over the age of 18 and should have a BMI (body mass index) of at least 28 (overweight). It is also advised that you take a multivitamin in the evening, but not at the same time you take Alli. If you are eating a meal that has a higher fat content than your recommended target, you should refrain from using Alli, as the chances of diet-related treatment effects are greater.

With more than 36 percent of American adults now classified as obese according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the numbers still climbing, doctors are clamoring for more pharmaceuticals to treat their patients. But even as doctors have begun scribbling prescriptions for these new weight loss medications, many dieters remember the long and checkered past of diet drugs in this country. Some drugs that were originally viewed as rock stars for weight loss and appetite control were ultimately pulled off the market after it was found they posed serious health risks. "Once people stopped losing weight they would take more and more of the pills, and this left some feeling racy and agitated with a rapid pulse and high blood pressure," said Dr. By the 1970s, the FDA limited its use for weight loss to short-term treatment only. Riding the wave of the supplement's popularity a similar drug named dexfenfluramine and marketed as Redux was quickly approved by the FDA in 1996. Approved in 1997, the drug was found during clinical trials to increase heart rate and blood pressure. The drug's risks proved not to be worth the benefits: Studies found a 16 percent increase of major cardiac events in patients taking Meridia compared with those who weren't taking the drug, with a negligible difference in weight loss. Done often enough, the drug is not as effective and weight loss is minimal. Belviq is approved for the obese and those who are overweight and have other serious health risks. In clinical trials, the average person lost 3 percent to 3.7 percent of his weight after taking Belviq for a year compared to those taking a placebo. Patients are unlikely to see any significant weight loss by staying on the drug, the agency said.
